Background

H World Group Limited is a big player in the global hotel industry. It started in China. As of September 30, 2024, it operated 10,845 hotels with 1,062,546 rooms in 18 countries. Currently, the group is ranked 5th in the global hotel group rankings published by Hotels magazine in the United States.

Ruijie Networks has been a key networking supplier for H World Group since 2011. In 2024, Ruijie provided 80% of all H World’s networking devices.

Requirement

In the hospitality business, reliable internet is a must. When 3G/4G data was expensive, hotel Wi-Fi was important for business travellers. A standard AP deployment was needed to ensure good Wi-Fi quality. Also, managing networks across thousands of hotels was complex. The group needed a smarter way to monitor and control the network to reduce IT work and solve problems quickly.

Solution

Ruijie Networks took action. Since 2015, they have installed 1,000,000+ Wall AP units. This improved Wi-Fi coverage and reduced the user load per AP. They also put in 10,000+ EG routers in all H World hotels. These routers allowed smooth portal authentication and worked well with Hanting’s PMS and membership systems. Plus, a cloud-based dashboard was introduced. It gave real-time Wi-Fi status for thousands of hotels, using data to spot and fix issues early.

Results

The changes made a big difference. The Wall AP became the standard for guest room connectivity in China. Guests now enjoy much better Wi-Fi. The EG routers made authentication easy and improved internet speed. This led to higher guest satisfaction. The cloud management system also helped a lot. Ruijie Cloud & App allowed over 10,000 housekeeping staff to check Wi-Fi issues, improving service efficiency and guest happiness.
